What You Need to Know When Choosing a Contract Manufacturing Partner: Pre Start-Up Review & Safety Scale-Up

Contract Manufacturing Stage 5 Pre Start Up Review And Safety Scale Up

In this post, we discuss Stage 5 of our process for bringing your contract manufacturing project to launch. Miss our previous posts in this series on how to choose a contract manufacturing partner and wondering what’s going on? No problem! Read them now and then come back to learn more about what you can expect when working with contract manufacturing experts.

By Stage 5 of the Seacole contract manufacturing process, we have completed the formulary work, costing, all quality checkpoints, and simulated your project in the lab. This means we’re ready to scale up your project for production.

Stage 5: Pre Start-Up Review

Seacole’s contract manufacturing pre start-up review is a thorough analysis of the lab batch and review of the production equipment and safety processes needed to scale up to production. Our lab personnel work with our production department to align equipment, such as tanks, pumps, hoses, and other special requirements needed. Once this review is complete, it is time for the safety scale-up.

Stage 5: Safety Scale-Up

Each step of the contract manufacturing process is reviewed for safety needs. During this step, our team reviews any required special protective wear, ventilation needs, or any other requirements for handling and processing. Once all parties have reviewed and approved the safety needs for your project, Seacole documents the step-by-step safety process in preparation for production scale-up.

As our production team prepares for the first batch of your product, we work with you to review and approve each step of the process to assure expected results at each step, from the lab to production.

Projects pass through Stage 5 once the pre start-up review and safety scale-up are complete. With these final reviews completed and safety process documented, it is time to move on to Stage 6: Production.

Sound like a lot of work? It is, but don’t worry, this what we do! The time we invest in the technical assessment prevents headaches and heartache during the production process.

With Stage 5 complete, we can now confidently move your project forward to Stage 6: Production. More on Stage 6 in the next blog post of the “What You Need to Know When Choosing a Contract Manufacturing Partner” series.
