What Could Our Team’s 90+ Years of Printed Circuit Board Experience Do for You?

Seacole brings decades of chemistry knowledge and process expertise to PCB manufacturing challenges. Its established formulations, technical troubleshooting experience, and focus on developing new chemistry solutions help PCB manufacturers address process requirements while maintaining consistency and performance.

Did you know that Seacole has served the printed circuit board market for more than 36 years? Our experience doesn’t stop there, however. Our talented team has more than 90 years of combined experience serving PCB customers. What could our printed circuit board experience do for your PCB manufacturing process?

Serving PCB Manufacturers for 36 Years

We have been serving the printed circuit board marketplace before Seacole was Seacole. Our PCB history starts in 1990 with the founding of Circuit Research Corporation (CRC). It provided specialty chemistry and associated services for PCB manufacturers.

Circuit Research Corporation became known as a formulation innovator and excellent service provider to companies across the world. Our original CRC formulations are the backbone of many of the PCB chemistries we sell today. In 2002, our CEO Gregg Elliott founded Seacole and acquired CRC, bringing our president John Bell on board. The combined company set up shop in Delano, Minnesota.

Over the next seven years, Seacole continued to expand while maintaining PCB chemistries as a core capability. By 2009, the company had acquired C & H Chemical, moved its headquarters to Plymouth, Minnesota, and been named a Fast 50 company by the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal.

Since then, we’ve earned our ISO 9001:2015 certification, joined the NACD and taken their pledge to follow their stringent responsible distribution standards, and installed solar panels on our rooftop to improve sustainability. Through it all, we continued to serve our PCB customers and develop new chemistries for every step of the PCB manufacturing process.

PCB Manufacturing FAQs

How can PCB chemistry expertise help improve manufacturing processes?

Experienced chemistry support can help manufacturers identify products that are compatible with their specific equipment, materials, and process conditions. Technical troubleshooting can also help address issues with process control, chemistry performance, and finished-board quality.

Why is formulation consistency important for PCB manufacturing?

Consistent chemical formulations help maintain predictable process conditions from batch to batch. This can support more stable manufacturing results and reduce process variation that may affect circuit quality or downstream production.

How can PCB chemistry suppliers help troubleshoot manufacturing problems?

A technical chemistry team can evaluate the manufacturing process, operating conditions, equipment, and chemistry requirements to help identify potential causes of process issues. This may include recommending adjustments to chemistry selection, concentrations, or process controls based on the specific application.

Why is it useful for a PCB chemistry supplier to offer both established and new formulations?

Proven formulations can provide a foundation of established process performance, while newer technologies can address evolving manufacturing requirements and process challenges. Combining formulation experience with ongoing development allows chemistry suppliers to support both established processes and changing PCB manufacturing needs.
