In this post, we discuss Stage 4 of our process for bringing your contract manufacturing project to launch. Miss our previous posts in this series on how to choose a contract manufacturing partner and wondering what’s going on? No problem! Read them now and then come back to learn more about what you can expect when working with contract manufacturing experts.
Stage 4 is the most exciting part of our contract manufacturing process. During this stage, we create a lab batch of your product, perform thorough quality checks, and create a plan on how to produce, label, and package your product.
Stage 4: Lab Batch & Operations Planning
Seacole has a variety of quality control testing and laboratory equipment to serve your project needs. Our technical team reviews your requirements and align your project with appropriate production resources.
During this step, our chemists simulate your project in the lab, testing and verifying all the product parameters. At this point we will produce a lab batch to validate the formula parameters and run your product through our quality control checkpoints. During this step, we work with you to verify your product’s performance meets expectations before we create a plan for full production.
Stage 4: Labeling & Packaging
If you require packaging solutions, you will work with Seacole’s project management, marketing, and procurement staff to assess needs, budget, material packaging options, product placement, marketing, and regulatory requirements so we can provide an effective and efficient packaging solution.
Seacole’s team reviews your project’s labeling and packaging requirements and will set and review production equipment parameters to prepare for production scale-up. Seacole can provide a variety of labeling, storing, shipping, and receiving functions for your project. This may include storing and palletizing to your needs, blind shipping directly to your customers, and logistical support. Whatever your needs, Seacole can work to provide the top quality labeling and packaging services for your specific project.
Projects pass through Stage 4 once the lab batch passes all quality controls. This is an important step in the process, as we have validated a number of items to this point: cost, price, formula, sourcing, blending processes, labeling, and packaging. With these steps accomplished, we prepare for production scale-up.
Sound like a lot of work? It is, but don’t worry, this what we do! The time we invest in the technical assessment prevents headaches and heartache during the production process.
With Stage 4 complete, we can now confidently move your project forward to Stage 5: Pre-Startup Review and Safety Scale-Up. More on Stage 5 in the next blog post of the “What You Need to Know When Choosing a Contract Manufacturing Partner” series.
